- Clean the outer shell using a soft damp cloth and a mild soap solution; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners as these can degrade the shell finish and graphics.
- Clean the visor with warm water and a soft, lint-free cloth; never wipe a dry visor as fine debris will scratch the surface.
- If the interior liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cool water with mild detergent and allow them to air-dry fully before reinstalling — do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
- Inspect the visor pivot mechanism and locking tabs regularly for wear; replace the visor immediately if it is cracked, deeply scratched, or no longer seals correctly against the helmet body.
- Check the chin strap and retention system before each ride; the strap should fasten securely and show no fraying or buckle damage.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel, and chemical fumes — prolonged UV and solvent exposure can weaken both the shell and the internal foam.
- Never hang the helmet from its visor or strap in a way that places sustained pressure on the pivot mechanism or shell.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — the internal energy-absorbing liner is a single-use component and may no longer offer full protection after an impact.
- As a general guideline, plan to replace your helmet every five years from the date of manufacture, or sooner if the shell, liner, retention system, or visor shows signs of deterioration.
