Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; never use petroleum-based solvents, harsh chemicals, or abrasive pads as these degrade the shell and paintwork.
Wipe the visor with a damp microfibre cloth; do not wipe a dry visor — trapped grit will scratch the lens surface.
Inspect the chin strap and retention buckle before each ride for fraying, cracking, or hardware damage; do not ride with a compromised strap.
Store the helmet in a bag or hard case in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extremes of heat, all of which accelerate degradation of the EPS liner and shell.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even where no external damage is visible — internal EPS foam crushes to absorb energy and cannot self-restore.
As a general guide, retire the helmet no later than five years from the date of first use, or earlier if the shell, liner, or retention system shows visible deterioration.
Avoid painting, drilling, or applying stickers to the shell as this can compromise structural integrity.
