The Oxford Aquatex Topbox is a weatherproof cover shaped to fit motorcycles and scooters that have a top box fitted, so you don't have to remove luggage every time you park up. Double PU-coated polyester keeps rain out, while the same cover doubles as an indoor dust sheet for bikes kept in a garage or shed.
An elasticated base and belly strap pull the cover in snugly so it stays put in wind, and lock holes let you thread a chain through the cover and the bike together — a simple visual theft deterrent that police initiatives have highlighted. - Do not allow the cover to touch hot exhausts, engine parts or sharp objects — let the bike cool down completely before fitting.
- Check the inside of the cover for grit and dirt before each fit so trapped debris doesn't rub against paint or screen.
- Fit the cover over the bike with the top box in place, then pull the elasticated base under the bike and fasten the belly strap so wind can't lift it.
- For added security, thread a chain lock through the lock holes so the cover and motorcycle are secured together.
- Wipe dirt off with a damp cloth and mild soapy water; avoid solvents, petrol and harsh cleaners, which can damage the PU coating and stitching.
- Let the cover dry fully before folding it into the zipped carrier — packing it away damp can lead to mildew and odours.
- Store the carrier bag under the seat, in a top box or in a pannier so the cover travels with you.
- Inspect stitching, the belly strap and the elasticated hem periodically, and repair or replace the cover if the coating starts to flake or tear.
