The Leatt Chest Protector 4.5 Evo is a hard-shell chest and back protector built for off-road riding, combining a rigid outer shell with Leatt's FlexMesh Pro ventilated armour. It is aimed at motocross, enduro and trail riders who want CE Level 2 chest and back coverage without the bulk and heat of a traditional roost deflector.
Compared with the previous Chest Protector 4.5 (up to 2023), this Evo version is 22% lighter and 50% more ventilated, so it stays cooler and less fatiguing over long motos. A multi-layer, multi-plate articulating construction with 3D flex joints lets the armour move with the body, while flank panels add rib and side protection.
Front and rear plates are removable, and the slimmer BraceOn system allows a Leatt neck brace to be fitted over or under the shirt. Supplied in black, in sizes S/M, L/XL and XXL.

- Choose your size by rider height: S/M suits 160-172 cm and L/XL suits 172-184 cm, with the full range spanning 160-196 cm.
- Set the over-the-shoulder straps so the shell sits centred on the chest and the back plate covers the spine, then re-check the adjustment after the first few rides.
- If you ride with a Leatt neck brace, fit it using the BraceOn mounts - the front and rear plates are removable, so remove them before mounting or swapping the brace hardware.
- Remove the front and rear plates before cleaning so you can reach the FlexMesh Pro chassis and straps.
- Clean by hand with lukewarm water and a mild soap, then rinse thoroughly; do not use solvents, petrol, degreasers or bleach on the shell, mesh or straps.
- Air dry away from direct sunlight, heaters and clothes dryers, as heat can distort the hard shell plates.
- Check the shell, plates, straps and buckles for cracks, deformation or fraying before each ride, and refit any plate that has been removed before riding.
- Replace the protector after any significant impact or crash, even if there is no visible damage, as impact protection is single-use by nature.
- Store flat or hanging in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it compressed under gear or in a hot vehicle.
