- Check the fit before every ride: the helmet should sit level with no pressure points, and the micrometric buckle should be adjusted so the strap is snug under the jaw with no slack.
- Remove the cheek pads and comfort liner for washing — hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and air dry in the shade before refitting. Do not machine dry or use a heater.
- Clean the outer shell and main visor with a soft cloth, warm water and mild soap only. Avoid petrol, solvents, ammonia-based glass cleaners and abrasive cloths, which can damage the matte finish and the visor coatings.
- Treat the Pinlock insert gently: its anti-fog surface is soft-coated. Wipe only with a damp soft cloth or microfibre, never dry-scrub it, and let it dry naturally.
- If the visor fogs at the edges, check the Pinlock insert is seated on both pins with the silicone seal in even contact with the visor; adjust the pins if the seal is loose.
- Use the Quick Release System to remove the visor for cleaning or replacement — no tools needed. Refit until both sides click home and the visor opens and closes smoothly through its detents.
- Keep the chin, top and rear exhaust vents clear of insects, dust and road grime so the channelled EPS airflow isn't blocked.
- After wet rides, dry the helmet at room temperature with the liner removed and the visor cracked open; don't leave it in direct sun or near a heat source.
- Store in a helmet bag in a cool, dry place, away from fuel, exhaust fumes and solvent vapours, which can degrade the shell and EPS.
- Don't paint the shell, apply solvent-based adhesives or stickers, or modify the EPS for accessories. When fitting the LS2 Spectrum intercom, use the provided mounting points rather than cutting the liner or EPS.
- Replace the helmet after any impact, even if there is no visible damage — the EPS compresses once and will not protect the same way again.
- Don't hang the helmet on a mirror, bar end or indicator, and don't drop it; the liner and shell can be damaged without obvious external signs.
