  • Inspect the helmet before every ride — check the shell for cracks, the chin strap for fraying, and the peak attachment for security.
  • Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible; the internal liner is designed to absorb a single impact and will not offer the same protection a second time.
  • Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; never use petroleum-based solvents, fuel, or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the shell material.
  • Where the design permits, remove internal pads and liners and hand-wash in cool water with a gentle detergent; allow all components to air-dry completely before refitting — never use a tumble dryer or direct heat source.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and chemical exposure when not in use; UV and solvent exposure can weaken the shell over time.
  • Recheck chin-strap fit at the start of each riding season — children grow quickly and a correctly fitted helmet should sit level, with no more than two fingers of clearance under the strap at the chin.
  • Fit MX goggles before each ride and ensure the goggle strap is routed correctly through or over the retention point at the rear of the helmet to prevent the goggles moving under impact.
  • Retire the helmet in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended service life or sooner if the shell, liner, retention system, or peak mounting shows any sign of wear, cracking, or damage.
