- Check your owner's manual for the correct oil grade, fill quantity and change interval before use — this is an SAE 30 gear oil and is not a substitute for engine oil in four-stroke scooters.
- Drain the gearbox with the engine at normal operating temperature so the old oil flows out freely, then allow it to drain fully before refilling.
- Park the scooter upright and level when draining and filling so the oil level reads correctly.
- Clean the drain and fill plug areas before removing them to stop grit entering the gearbox, and refit plugs to the manufacturer's torque with a serviceable sealing washer where fitted.
- Refill slowly to the level specified by the scooter manufacturer, then check for leaks around the plugs after a short ride.
- Avoid mixing with other gear or transmission oils; drain the old oil out rather than topping up with a different product.
- Store the bottle upright, tightly sealed, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and ignition sources.
- Wear gloves and avoid prolonged skin contact; wash off any splashes with soap and water.
- Collect used oil in a sealed container and take it to a council oil-recycling facility or workshop — never pour it down a drain or onto the ground.
