The Powervolt MG12A-A2 is a 12-volt nano-gel, maintenance-free motorcycle battery supplied as a direct replacement for the YB12A-A battery designation.
It suits riders replacing a tired or failed battery in a bike, scooter, ATV or similar powersports machine that specifies a YB12A-A size battery. Being a sealed, maintenance-free unit, there is no electrolyte topping up in service — check your owner's manual or the battery you are removing to confirm the correct size, terminal layout and polarity before ordering.

- Confirm the battery size, terminal positions and polarity against the unit you are removing before fitting.
- Disconnect the negative terminal first when removing the old battery, and reconnect it last when fitting the new one.
- Keep terminals clean and tight; a smear of petroleum jelly or terminal grease on the posts helps limit corrosion.
- Do not open, drill or attempt to add electrolyte — this is a sealed maintenance-free battery.
- Charge only with a charger suited to sealed gel/maintenance-free batteries, and follow the charger's instructions; avoid high-current fast charging.
- If the bike is used infrequently or stored over winter, keep the battery topped up with a compatible smart charger or maintainer to avoid deep discharge.
- Store the battery upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Wipe the case clean with a damp cloth only; avoid solvents.
- Recycle the old battery through a battery collection point rather than placing it in general waste.
