The Powervolt MG 5L-BS MF is a 12V sealed Nano-Gel battery for machines that take the 5L-BS case size. It ships factory activated and charged, so there is no acid pack to pour and no commissioning routine before it goes into the tray.
Gel construction makes it a fit-and-forget option: the cell is completely sealed, so there is no electrolyte to top up, spills and leaks are eliminated even if the case is damaged, and the battery can sit at any angle. Beyond motorcycles, the same battery is used in scooters, ATVs, UTVs, PWCs and ride-on mowers.

- Supplied factory activated and charged — do not attempt to open, prise off or fill the sealed caps, and never add acid or water.
- Check the battery's state of charge before fitting if it has been in storage for an extended period, and recharge before installation if needed.
- Use a charger with a gel or sealed-battery setting; avoid high-rate boost or unregulated wet-acid chargers, which can damage a sealed gel cell.
- Connect the positive terminal first and the negative last when installing; disconnect the negative first when removing.
- Keep terminals clean and free of corrosion, tighten fasteners firmly but without overtightening, and secure the battery in its tray so vibration cannot move it.
- The battery can sit at any angle, but it should still be clamped or strapped in place rather than left loose.
- Wipe the case and terminals with a damp cloth and dry them off; do not use solvents or petrol-based cleaners on the case.
- For seasonal layup, disconnect the battery, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct heat, and either recharge it periodically or leave it on a maintenance charger suited to sealed batteries.
- Avoid leaving the battery in a deeply discharged state — repeated flat-battery episodes shorten service life, especially on machines used only for short trips.
- Keep the battery away from naked flames and sparks, and wear eye protection when handling or charging.
