The Pirelli Scorpion Rally Race is a front tyre built for adventure and rally-style bikes that spend most of their time off the bitumen. The aggressive knobbed tread is shaped to generate rotational traction on loose, broken and difficult terrain, while the carcass is designed to balance road manners with off-road puncture resistance.

This is the 90/90-21 front fitment in tube-type (TT) construction, carrying a 54R load and speed rating and DOT homologation for road use. It suits riders on 21-inch front adventure and enduro-adventure machines who want a hard-wearing, off-road-biased tyre that still holds up on the transport sections between trails.

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — this is a tube-type (TT) tyre and must be run with a suitable inner tube and rim tape.
Fit in the front position only, and mount it so the tread follows the rotation direction marked on the sidewall.
Ride gently for the first stint on a new tyre so the tread and compound can bed in and the release agents wear off, and avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and full lean until it has scrubbed in.
Check and set cold inflation pressures regularly using the pressures specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual or on the swingarm/chain guard placard; correct pressure protects the carcass from impact damage and controls knob wear.
If you lower pressures for soft off-road terrain, reset them before returning to sealed roads and higher speeds.
Inspect the tread and sidewalls before each ride for cuts, embedded stones, torn or chunked knobs, bulges and exposed cords, and have any damage assessed before riding.
Do not exceed the load and speed capability shown by the 54R rating on the sidewall.
Re-check tube-type assemblies for slow air loss after fitment and after any off-road ride at reduced pressures, as tubes can be pinched or the tyre can creep on the rim.
Replace the tyre once the tread reaches the legal minimum depth for your state, or earlier if the knobs are heavily rounded or torn.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, solvents, fuels and electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
