The Pirelli Scorpion Rally is an adventure tyre built for riders who spend a serious share of their kilometres off the bitumen. This is the 150/70 R18 70R MST TL rear fitment — a radial, tubeless casing with an aggressive knobbed tread pattern designed to bite into loose and broken surfaces.
The rear knob layout is shaped to generate rotational traction on difficult terrain, so the tyre keeps driving where a road-biased adventure pattern would spin up. It is built to be hard wearing with high resistance to puncture, which suits long-distance touring where replacement tyres are a long way away.
This size covers popular large-capacity adventure machines such as the BMW R1200GS and Suzuki V-Strom. The tyre is DOT homologated and sold individually as a rear. Always confirm the size, load and speed rating against your motorcycle manufacturer's recommendations before fitting.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct machinery; do not attempt to lever a radial adventure tyre on at home.
- As a tubeless (TL) tyre, fit only to a rim rated for tubeless use, and check the rim seat and valve are clean and undamaged before fitting.
- Respect the mounting direction arrow moulded into the sidewall — a rear knobby tyre fitted backwards will not drive or brake as intended.
- Ride gently for the first stretch after fitting to scrub in the release agent and let the new knobs settle before hard acceleration, braking or heavy lean.
- Check pressures with a reliable gauge when the tyres are cold, and set them to the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer for your load; lowering pressures for off-road traction increases the risk of casing damage and rim strikes at speed.
- Inspect the tread and sidewalls regularly for cuts, embedded stones, torn or chunked knobs and impact damage, especially after rocky or corrugated sections.
- Do not exceed the load and speed capability marked on the sidewall (70R), and never fit a tyre with a rating below your bike manufacturer's specification.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, fuels, solvents and electric motors that generate ozone.
- Clean with water and mild soap only; avoid solvents, tyre-shine dressings or silicone products, which can leave a slippery residue on the tread.
- Replace the tyre if the tread is worn to the legal minimum for your state, if the casing is cut or bulging, or if it has suffered a significant impact — and have any proposed repair assessed by a professional against Pirelli's and your local repair standards.
