The Pirelli MT21 Rallycross is a knobby rear tyre for riders who spend most of their time on dirt, gravel and sand but still have to link those sections together on the bitumen. It was developed with adventure riders and rally specialists in mind, so it covers a broad spread of surfaces rather than specialising in just one.

This fitment is the 130/90-17 rear in the M/C 68P M+S specification, suited to larger dual-sport, adventure and rally-raid machines running a 17-inch rear wheel. The drawcard is durability: an off-road compound that holds its knobs together through hard, abrasive kilometres, paired with a casing built to cope with speed and rough going.

  • Rear fitment in 130/90-17 M/C, rated 68P
  • Tread pattern optimised for dirt tracks, gravel roads and desert riding
  • Off-road compound with high resistance to knob tearing
  • Carcass structure designed to support high speeds and resist punctures
  • M+S (mud and snow) marked
  • DOT approved
  • Developed for adventure riders, rally raid and cross-country use

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre fitter, and follow any direction-of-rotation or fitting marking on the sidewall.
  • Where your wheel requires a tube, fit a new tube and check the rim tape at the same time as the tyre — don't reuse an old, stretched tube.
  • Set and check pressures cold, using the pressures specified by your motorcycle's manufacturer for your load and riding conditions.
  • Ride gently for the first rides so the moulding release agent wears off and the knobs scrub in before you push hard.
  • If you drop pressures for sand or rocky going, stay within the pressure range your bike manufacturer allows and re-inflate before returning to sealed roads.
  • Do not exceed the tyre's 68P load and speed rating.
  • Inspect regularly for torn or chunked knobs, cuts, embedded stones and sidewall damage, and replace the tyre if the casing is damaged.
  • Replace before the tread wears below the minimum legal depth in your state; off-road knobs can look serviceable while the centre is well worn.
  • Keep petrol, oil, brake fluid, solvents and overspray chain lube off the rubber — clean with mild soap and water only.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place, away from direct sunlight and electric motors that generate ozone.
  • Recheck tyre pressure and axle/wheel fasteners after the first ride following fitment.
