The Pirelli Diablo Rosso II is a sport tyre built for everyday road use, developed with technology drawn from Pirelli's Superbike racing programme. This is the 190/55ZR17 M/C (75W) tubeless rear, the common fitment for large-capacity sports and sport-touring machines.

It uses a bi-compound rear tread that pairs a longer-wearing centre with grippier shoulders, so it holds up to commuting and touring kilometres without giving up confidence when the road turns. The tread pattern runs a reduced land/sea ratio with slick shoulder areas for a solid footprint at full lean, while grooved sections manage water in the wet.

The Diablo Rosso II is the predecessor to the Diablo Rosso III. Always confirm the size, load and speed rating specified for your motorcycle before ordering.

  • Sport tyre designed for road use, derived from Pirelli's SBK racing technology
  • Bi-compound rear tread combining mileage in the centre with grip on the shoulders
  • Extreme Cohesion Compound (ECC) for increased mileage
  • Pirelli Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT) optimises contact patch geometry for a larger footprint
  • Functional Groove Design (FGD) to improve wet-weather behaviour
  • Tread pattern with reduced land/sea ratio for more rubber on the road
  • Slick shoulder areas for grip and stability at full lean
  • Radial, tubeless (TL) construction in 190/55ZR17 M/C (75W)

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified tyre technician using correct machinery — this is not a DIY job on a modern radial.
  • Check the direction-of-rotation arrow on the sidewall at fitting; running a directional tyre backwards compromises wet performance and wear.
  • As a tubeless tyre, fit only to a rim rated and sealed for tubeless use, with a serviceable valve — replace the valve at every tyre change.
  • Scrub in a new tyre progressively before hard cornering, braking or acceleration; the fresh surface needs a settling-in period to reach full grip, especially out on the shoulders.
  • Check and adjust pressures cold, at least fortnightly, to the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer — under-inflation causes overheating, poor handling and rapid wear.
  • Do not exceed the load and speed rating marked on the sidewall, and reduce speed and lean angle for the first kilometres in the wet or when tyres are cold.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded objects, bulges, cracking and uneven or squared-off wear; check remaining tread against the legal minimum in your state and replace once wear indicators are reached.
  • Run a matching front tyre where possible; mixing different patterns or brands front to rear can alter handling.
  • Wash with mild soap and water only. Keep petrol, solvents, brake fluid, chain lube and silicone-based tyre shine off the tread and sidewalls.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, and clear of electric motors or welders that generate ozone.
  • Have the tyre inspected after any impact with a kerb or pothole, or after a puncture repair, before returning to high-speed riding.
