The Oxford Nomad Adventure Harness is the foundation of the Nomad soft luggage system — a universal, saddle-mounted base that straps over the seat and gives you a MOLLE-compatible platform to build from. Rather than committing to one fixed bag, you mount the harness once and attach or swap Nomad accessories to suit the ride.
It's aimed at enduro and adventure riders who want luggage that flexes with the trip, from a light day loop to a multi-day tour. Construction is 600D polyester with a weatherproof finish, four adjustable fitting straps to pull it snug over the seat, D-ring webbing points for additional tie-downs, and Hypalon® tabs at the high-wear areas.

- Fit the harness centrally over the seat and tension all four straps evenly so the PALS panel sits flat and square before loading any accessories.
- Route and secure the tail of each strap away from the rear wheel, chain, exhaust and any hot or moving parts, and check nothing fouls the suspension through its full travel.
- Re-check strap tension after the first few kilometres and at each fuel stop — webbing beds in and settles once loaded.
- Pack heavier items low and towards the centre of the bike, and keep the load balanced side to side to avoid the harness shifting under braking.
- Brush off mud, dust and grit after off-road use, then sponge the fabric with lukewarm water and a mild soap; avoid solvents, petrol, harsh detergents and high-pressure washers, which can damage the coating, webbing and Hypalon® tabs.
- Allow the harness to air dry completely away from direct heat before storing or refitting; never machine wash or tumble dry.
- The fabric is weatherproof rather than a sealed dry bag — use waterproof inner bags or liners for clothing, electronics and documents in sustained rain or river crossings.
- Inspect webbing, stitching, buckles and D-rings regularly for fraying, cuts or heat damage, and retire the harness if load-bearing components are compromised.
- Store flat or loosely rolled in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to limit UV degradation of the webbing.
- Remove the harness before washing the bike and when the motorcycle is left unattended for long periods.
