The Oxford Alpha XA14 is a heavy-duty alarmed disc lock for motorcycles and scooters, built around a forged stainless steel body and a 14mm T-locking pin. A motion-activated 110dB siren adds an audible deterrent on top of the physical security, so any attempt to move or attack the bike draws attention straight away.
It suits riders who park on the street, at work or at events and want more than a basic disc lock. Independent approval to Sold Secure Gold, ART 4210 and Classe SRA puts it in the category insurers and secure parking schemes tend to recognise.
The alarm runs on a rechargeable lithium polymer battery topped up by the supplied USB cable, and an attachment eye lets you fit a reminder cable to the bars. Oxford also operates a key replacement service for the Alpha range — record your key number and keep it somewhere safe.

- Charge the lithium polymer battery fully with the supplied USB cable before first use, and recharge periodically if the lock is stored unused.
- Record your key number and store it separately from the lock so a replacement key can be ordered through Oxford's key replacement service if all keys are lost.
- Fit the lock through a brake disc hole where it will not foul the caliper, and check it sits clear before leaving the bike.
- Disarm the alarm and remove the lock before riding — always use a reminder cable through the attachment eye so you do not ride off with it fitted.
- Keep the locking pin and pin hole free of grit; brush out dirt before locking so the pin seats fully.
- Rinse off road salt, sand and mud with fresh water, then dry the lock thoroughly before storing.
- Apply a light spray of lock lubricant to the barrel and pin occasionally, particularly after wet or coastal use; avoid heavy greases that trap grit.
- Store in a dry place and avoid leaving the lock in standing water or extreme heat, which is hard on the battery.
- Do not attempt to open the lock body or service the alarm module yourself.
