The OptiMate Lithium 4s 0.8A is a fully automatic charger and maintainer built specifically for 12.8V/13.2V LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries — the lightweight lithium packs fitted to off-road, motocross and race motorcycles. It is not a general-purpose charger: the multi-step program is matched to lithium chemistry, so the battery is brought to full charge safely without supervision.

Connect it and leave it. The charger tests battery condition, can re-activate a pack that has gone into BMS sleep or deep-discharge protection, recovers from voltages as low as 0.5V, and then holds the battery at full charge and good health for long-term storage between rides or race meetings. It warns you if it detects battery damage rather than continuing blindly.

Weatherproof and rated for use down to -40°C, with standby draw under 0.5W for efficient 24/7 maintenance.

Use only with 12.8V/13.2V LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries — do not use on lead-acid, AGM, gel or lithium-ion packs of other chemistries.
Connect the charger to the battery, then switch on the mains supply; the program runs automatically through to full charge without supervision.
Safe to leave connected long-term, so use it as a maintainer during off-season storage, between race meetings or on bikes that sit unused.
If the battery has gone flat and the BMS has entered sleep or deep-discharge protection, leave the charger connected and allow it time to re-activate and recover the pack.
If the charger indicates a damaged battery, stop and have the battery assessed rather than repeatedly attempting to charge it.
Keep the connectors and leads clean and dry; wipe with a soft dry cloth and avoid solvents.
The unit is weatherproof, but store it out of standing water and direct sunlight when not in use, and route leads so they are not pinched, stretched or chafed against hot or moving parts.
Inspect the mains lead and battery leads periodically for damage and replace the unit if any insulation is compromised.
Coil the leads loosely for storage rather than winding them tightly around the housing.
