The Nolan N40-5 GT is a multi-configuration crossover helmet built for riders who demand adaptability without carrying multiple lids.   • Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap solution; never use solvents, petrol or abrasive cleaners, as these degrade the shell finish and underlying EPS liner.
  • Remove the comfort liner and cheek pads before washing; hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent and allow to air dry completely before reinserting — do not use a tumble dryer.
  • Clean the outer visor with warm water and a clean microfibre cloth; always wet the surface first — wiping a dry visor will grind grit into the polycarbonate and cause permanent scratches.
  • When raising or fully removing the chin guard, apply steady even pressure and confirm it locks positively into each position before riding.
  • Inspect the chin strap, retention buckle and all pivot points regularly for signs of wear, cracking or play; replace components if any damage is found.
  • After any significant impact, retire the helmet regardless of visible damage — the EPS liner is designed to absorb energy once and may be compromised even when the shell appears intact.
  • Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical fumes, all of which degrade foam and shell materials over time.
  • Never hang the helmet by its visor or chin guard, as sustained load on these mechanisms can cause stress damage.
