The Nolan N40-5 is a versatile open face (3/4) helmet designed for everyday commuters and recreational riders who value an unobstructed field of view and natural ventilation without sacrificing on-road convenience.
A built-in drop-down sun visor is the centrepiece of the N40-5, letting riders block glare without stopping to swap eyewear. A removable and washable interior lining keeps the helmet fresh through regular daily use.

- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water; avoid petrol-based solvents, abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners that can damage the shell or finish.
- Clean the visor with lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth; never rub it dry, as this introduces micro-scratches that reduce optical clarity.
- Remove the interior lining before washing and follow the care label instructions; allow all padding to dry completely before reinserting.
- Inspect the chin strap buckle and closure hardware for signs of wear, fraying or corrosion before each ride.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and extreme heat — prolonged UV and solvent exposure degrades both the shell and EPS liner.
- After any impact — including a drop from handlebar height — retire the helmet and replace it; EPS foam absorbs energy permanently and damage is not visible externally.
- Replace the visor if it shows deep scratches, crazing or yellowing, as these impair vision and riding safety.
- Do not paint, drill or modify the shell; this voids any protection the helmet provides and may affect compliance.
