The Nitromousse Soft mousse tube is a flat-proof replacement for a conventional inner tube, sized for 110/100-18 rear tyres. The Soft rating gives a feel comparable to running roughly 6-8 PSI, which suits enduro, trail and off-road riders who want low-pressure grip over rocks, roots and hard-pack without the risk of a puncture ending the day.
Developed by Nuetech, Nitromousse charges a tough micro-matrix of proprietary elastomers with a high concentration of nitrogen. The result is a more pneumatic, lively feel than a traditional mousse, with no break-in period required before the first ride. - Check the Nitromousse fitment guide and confirm your tyre size before fitting — mousses are size-specific and an incorrect match will affect handling and mousse life.
- Fit with a purpose-made mousse lubricant or gel applied generously to the mousse and the inside of the tyre; running a mousse dry causes heat build-up and rapid breakdown.
- Never fit a rim lock hard against the mousse without checking clearance, and take care with tyre levers so you do not cut or tear the foam during fitting.
- Do not attempt to inflate or add air — a mousse carries no air pressure and needs no pressure checks.
- No break-in is required; the mousse can be ridden hard from the first outing.
- Re-lube the mousse whenever the tyre is removed or replaced, and inspect the foam for tears, flat spots or hardening at the same time.
- Replace the mousse once it has visibly compressed, hardened or lost its rebound — a worn mousse feels vague and offers little impact resistance.
- Avoid prolonged high-speed road or transport-section riding, which generates heat that shortens mousse life.
- Store spare or removed mousses in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and keep them away from petrol, solvents and oils.
