Clean the outer shell using a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents or harsh chemicals, which can degrade the shell finish and underlying foam.
Wipe the visor or face shield with a damp microfibre cloth; use a dedicated helmet visor cleaner to remove insect residue without scratching the lens surface.
Where the interior liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cool water with a gentle detergent and allow them to air dry completely before refitting — do not tumble dry.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and exhaust fumes, all of which can degrade foam liners and retention components over time.
After any significant impact, retire and replace the helmet immediately — even if no external damage is visible, the internal EPS liner may be compromised and will not recover.
Replace the helmet at least every five years from the date of manufacture, or sooner if the shell, liner, retention system, or chin strap shows signs of wear, cracking, or degradation.
