  • Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and water; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish.
  • Clean the visor with a dedicated helmet visor cleaner or very mild soap solution; never wipe a dry visor as grit will scratch the surface.
  • To clean the drop-down sun visor, retract it fully before wiping; use the same mild solution and allow to air dry before stowing.
  • If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash it in cool water with mild detergent, reshape, and allow to dry fully before reinserting — never machine dry.
  • Store the helmet in a padded bag or box away from direct sunlight, fuels, solvents, and extreme heat, all of which degrade EPS foam over time.
  • Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is present — EPS foam does not recover and protection is compromised.
  • As a general industry guideline, retire any helmet after five years of use from first wear, or sooner if the shell, liner, or retention system shows wear or damage.
  • Inspect the chin-strap buckle and retention system regularly; if the fastener shows signs of corrosion, fraying, or does not click securely, have it assessed before riding.
  • Do not paint, apply stickers, or use cleaning products not approved for helmet shells, as these can weaken the composite material.
