Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or aerosol sprays, as these can degrade the shell material.
Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth only — paper towels and dry cloths can cause fine scratches that impair visibility.
If the internal liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in lukewarm water with mild detergent and allow them to air dry completely before reinstalling; do not machine-wash or tumble dry.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, UV exposure and heat sources such as exhaust pipes or heaters, as prolonged heat and UV can degrade foam liners and shell materials.
Do not place fuel containers, chemicals or sharp objects inside the helmet during transport or storage.
Inspect the retention system (chin strap and buckle) regularly for wear, fraying or damage; do not use the helmet if the strap is compromised.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even when no external damage is visible — internal foam liners absorb impact by crushing and offer reduced protection thereafter.
As a general guideline, replace the helmet within five years of its manufacture date or sooner if the inner liner shows signs of compression, deterioration or odour that washing cannot resolve.
Do not apply paint, stickers with strong adhesive, or chemical treatments to the outer shell, as these can weaken the structural integrity of the helmet.
