- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvent-based cleaners or petrol, which can damage paint and plastic.
- Clean the visor with warm water and a soft cloth only — paper towels and dry wiping can scratch the lens surface.
- Remove and hand-wash the interior liner (if removable) with mild detergent; allow to air-dry fully before reinserting.
- Do not store the helmet in direct sunlight or in the boot of a car for extended periods, as UV exposure and heat can degrade shell materials and foam liners over time.
- Store in the supplied bag or a breathable helmet bag when not in use to prevent dust build-up and surface scratches.
- Inspect the retention system (chin strap and buckle) regularly for fraying, cracking or loss of function and replace if damaged.
- Replace the helmet after any impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — foam liners absorb energy in a single event and do not recover.
- As a general guideline, helmets should be considered for replacement after five years of regular use, or sooner if the shell, liner or retention system shows signs of wear.
