- Clean the outer shell using a mild soap solution and a soft damp cloth; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or fuel, as these can damage the shell and finish.
- Clean the visor with warm water and a soft lint-free cloth; avoid wiping a dry visor, which can cause fine scratches that impair vision.
- If the interior lining or cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them gently in cool water with mild detergent and allow them to air-dry completely before reinstalling — do not tumble-dry.
- Inspect the chin strap, buckle and retention system regularly for signs of fraying, corrosion or damage; replace if any defect is found.
- Do not apply aftermarket stickers, spray paint or adhesives to the shell without confirming compatibility with the manufacturer, as some chemicals can compromise structural integrity.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and extreme heat or cold.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible external damage is present — the EPS liner may have been compromised.
- As a general guide, retire and replace any helmet after approximately five years from its date of manufacture, or sooner if the fit, liner condition or shell shows signs of deterioration.
