Clean the outer shell using a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish and graphic.
If the inner liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cold water with mild detergent and allow to air-dry completely before refitting — never use a tumble dryer.
Inspect the peak/visor and its mounting screws regularly; tighten any loose fasteners before each ride.
Check the retention system (chin strap and buckle) for wear or damage and replace if the buckle does not lock securely.
After any significant impact — even one with no visible damage — retire the helmet, as internal EPS foam damage is not always apparent externally.
Store in a helmet bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, and chemical fumes, all of which degrade foam and shell materials over time.
As a general safety guideline, replace the helmet every five years from the manufacture date, or sooner if the shell, liner, or retention system shows signs of deterioration.
