Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish and graphics.
If the inner liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cool water with mild detergent and allow them to air-dry completely before refitting — never machine-dry.
Inspect the peak/visor and its mounting screws regularly; tighten any loose fasteners before riding.
Check the chin strap buckle and webbing for wear or fraying; replace if the retention system shows signs of damage.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible cracking or deformation is present — the foam liner may be compromised.
Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour and chemical fumes, all of which accelerate degradation of the shell and EPS liner.
Avoid hanging the helmet by its chin strap for extended periods, as prolonged stress on the strap can distort the retention system.
Retire the helmet no later than five years from the date of manufacture, or earlier if advised by Nitro or if the helmet has been involved in a crash.
