  • Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petrol-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the finish.
  • Remove and hand-wash the inner liner (if removable) in cool water with gentle detergent; allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
  • Do not use compressed air or high-pressure water to clean the helmet interior.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extreme heat, all of which can degrade materials over time.
  • Inspect the visor/peak and peak screws before each ride; tighten or replace if loose or cracked.
  • Inspect the chin strap and retention system regularly; replace if fraying, cracking, or the buckle shows signs of wear.
  • Replace the helmet after any impact, even if external damage is not visible — internal foam may be compromised.
  • As a general guideline, helmets should be retired and replaced after five years of regular use, or sooner if the shell, liner, or retention system shows deterioration.
