A Nissin service kit for rebuilding a 14mm bore clutch master cylinder. Nissin master cylinders are fitted as original equipment across a wide range of Japanese motorcycles, and over time the internal seals harden and wear, which shows up as a spongy lever, slow return, fluid weeping past the lever pivot, or a clutch that will not fully disengage.

This kit is intended for riders and workshops carrying out a hydraulic overhaul rather than replacing the complete master cylinder assembly. It suits routine servicing, restoration work, and refreshing a bike that has been standing with old fluid in the system.

Fitment note: this kit is specific to 14mm bore master cylinders. Confirm the bore size stamped or cast on your master cylinder body, and confirm it is a clutch (not brake) unit, before ordering.

  • Nissin service kit for clutch master cylinder overhaul
  • Sized for 14mm bore master cylinders
  • Rebuilds the existing master cylinder instead of replacing the complete assembly
  • Suits Nissin master cylinders fitted as original equipment to many Japanese motorcycles
  • Supplied as a single kit, part number MCCK14

  • Confirm the master cylinder bore size and that the unit is a clutch (not brake) master cylinder before fitting — brake and clutch kits are not interchangeable.
  • Fitting a hydraulic master cylinder kit is a workshop-level job; if you are not confident bleeding a hydraulic clutch system, have it carried out by a qualified motorcycle mechanic.
  • Work clean: dirt or grit drawn into the bore will damage new seals quickly. Lay out parts on a clean surface and keep the reservoir covered while working.
  • Inspect the master cylinder bore before reassembly. If it is scored, pitted or corroded, new seals will not seal reliably and the master cylinder body should be replaced.
  • Use only fresh hydraulic fluid of the type specified by your motorcycle manufacturer, taken from a sealed container. Do not mix fluid types, and do not use mineral oil in a system designed for DOT fluid (or the reverse).
  • Do not clean components with petroleum-based solvents, petrol or degreaser — these attack rubber seals. Follow your service manual's cleaning recommendations.
  • Hydraulic fluid damages paint and plastics. Cover surrounding bodywork and rinse any spills off with water immediately.
  • Bleed the system thoroughly after reassembly and check for a firm lever with full clutch disengagement before riding. Re-check for leaks around the master cylinder and lever pivot after the first ride.
  • Replace hydraulic fluid at the interval given in your motorcycle's service schedule — old fluid absorbs moisture and shortens seal life.
  • Dispose of used hydraulic fluid through a workshop or council waste facility, not down a drain.
