A Nissin repair kit for rebuilding a 14mm bore front brake master cylinder. Nissin master cylinders are fitted as original equipment to a wide range of road and off-road motorcycles, and this kit is intended to restore an existing unit to service rather than replace the complete assembly.

Suited to riders and workshops carrying out routine hydraulic brake servicing, or addressing a spongy lever, weeping seals or fluid loss at the master cylinder. Check the bore size marked on your master cylinder body before ordering, as kits are bore-specific and are not interchangeable between sizes.

  • Nissin service kit for rebuilding a front brake master cylinder
  • Sized for 14mm bore master cylinders
  • Restores an existing master cylinder instead of replacing the whole assembly
  • Bore-specific kit — matches 14mm units only

  • Confirm the bore size stamped or cast on your master cylinder body before fitting — 14mm kits will not suit other bore sizes.
  • Brake work is safety critical; have the rebuild carried out by a qualified technician if you are not equipped to do it.
  • Work in a clean area and keep grit, dust and fibres out of the bore and seals during assembly.
  • Use only fresh brake fluid from a sealed container, of the type and specification called for by your motorcycle manufacturer; never reuse drained fluid.
  • Lubricate seals with clean brake fluid on assembly — do not use petroleum-based greases or oils, which swell and destroy rubber brake seals.
  • Inspect the master cylinder bore for scoring, pitting or corrosion before rebuilding; a damaged bore will not seal on new components and the cylinder should be replaced.
  • Bleed the system thoroughly after assembly and check for a firm lever with no leaks before riding.
  • Brake fluid damages paint and plastics — wipe up spills immediately and flush the area with water.
  • Replace brake fluid at the interval specified in your motorcycle's service schedule, as fluid absorbs moisture over time.
  • Store the kit sealed in its packaging, in a cool dry place, until it is needed; rubber components degrade with age, heat and UV exposure.
