The Nelson-Rigg SE-3050 Sierra dry saddlebags are a throw-over pair of fully waterproof soft panniers built for adventure and touring riders who want dependable weather protection without a hard luggage system. Each side holds 27.5 litres, and the pair mounts to a rack or subframe using aircraft-grade aluminium hardware and quick-release cam buckles rather than plastic clips.
Construction is heavy 24 oz UV-coated tarpaulin PVC with electronically heat-welded seams, so the bags keep water out rather than relying on a cover. A firm internal back plate and a removable stiffener help the bags hold their shape when they are only part-packed, and the included liners let you lift your gear out at the end of the day and carry it inside.

- Fit the bags using the Nelson-Rigg fitment instructions for your rack or subframe, and load both sides to a similar weight so the bike stays balanced.
- Tighten all four cam buckles per side evenly, then re-check them after the first short ride and at each fuel stop; secure any loose webbing tails so they cannot reach the rear wheel, chain or exhaust.
- Make sure the closure is sealed properly before every ride — the waterproofing depends on the bag being closed correctly, not on a rain cover.
- Keep the PVC clear of the exhaust and other hot components; contact with hot parts can melt or distort the material.
- Pack using the supplied liners so you can lift your gear straight out at the end of the day without unmounting the bags.
- Leave the removable stiffener fitted to help the bag hold its shape when part-packed, and take it out if you want to fold the bags flat for storage.
- Wipe the UV-coated outer with a damp cloth and mild soapy water; avoid solvents, petrol-based cleaners and pressure washing, which can damage the coating and the welded seams.
- Inspect the replaceable rack contact pad from time to time and replace it once worn, so the bag itself is not abraded against the rack.
- Dry the bags and liners fully inside and out before storing, and store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
