The Nelson-Rigg NR-400 Road Trip saddlebags are a semi-hard mount luggage pair built for cruisers, offering 9.5 litres of storage per side in a rigid, shape-holding body that stays neat whether loaded or empty. They mount using the included custom fender strut brackets, an adjustable self-fastening detachable yoke and two self-fastening straps per side, so the bags sit securely without permanent modifications to the bike.
They suit riders on most Harley-Davidson Softail and Dyna models, as well as other cruisers such as the Kawasaki Vulcan S and BMW R18. Some models may require the taillights to be relocated, so check fitment for your bike before ordering.
The shell is made from Nelson-Rigg's UltraMax fabric for strong UV resistance against fading and discolouring, and 100% waterproof rain covers are included for wet-weather touring. Lockable zippers and reflective piping round out a practical set for weekend trips and daily riding alike.

- Confirm fitment for your specific model before installation — some Harley-Davidson models require the taillights to be relocated to clear the bags.
- Install the supplied fender strut mounting brackets first, then fit the yoke over the seat area and adjust it so both bags hang level and clear of the exhaust, rear wheel and suspension travel.
- Secure both self-fastening straps on each side and re-check all straps, brackets and the yoke after the first ride, then periodically thereafter.
- Do not exceed sensible loading — keep weight balanced side to side and avoid packing hard or sharp objects against the shell or against the bike's paintwork.
- Fit the included rain covers before riding in wet weather; the covers, not the shell alone, provide the waterproofing.
- Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a soft cloth or sponge, then air dry completely. Avoid solvents, petrol, harsh detergents and pressure washers, which can damage the UltraMax fabric and its UV protection.
- Dry rain covers fully before folding and storing them to prevent mildew and odour.
- Keep zippers clear of grit and lubricate them occasionally with a zipper-safe lubricant so the lockable sliders keep running smoothly.
- Remove the bags and store them empty in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight when they are not in use, retaining their shape rather than folding the rigid shell.
- Check the interior lining, straps and reflective piping regularly for wear, and stop using any strap or bracket that shows damage.
