A direct replacement speedometer cable from MTX Parts, made to suit the electric-start Yamaha AG200. It's built to meet or exceed the original equipment cable specification, so it fits and functions like the part it replaces.

Speedo cables live a hard life on ag and trail bikes — dust, mud, water and constant vibration all take their toll, and a frayed inner or split outer usually shows up as a jumpy needle or a dead speedo. This cable uses a black vinyl outer housing with a nylon inner sleeve, which keeps the action smooth and helps the cable last.

Suited to owners and workshops replacing a worn, kinked or seized factory cable on an AG200 electric start.

  • Engineered to meet or exceed OEM cable specifications
  • Suits Yamaha AG200 electric start models
  • Black vinyl outer housing protects the cable
  • Nylon inner sleeve for smooth operation and long service life
  • Direct replacement for worn or degraded factory speedo cables
  • Part of the wider MTX cable range covering throttle, brake, clutch and speedo applications
  • Speedo cable

  • Check the fitment against your bike's model and start type before installation — this cable is specified for the electric-start AG200.
  • Route the new cable along the same path as the original, keeping it clear of the exhaust, steering stops and any pinch points, and allow enough slack for full lock-to-lock steering and suspension travel.
  • Hand-tighten the knurled collars at the speedo head and the front wheel drive unit; over-tightening can strip the threads or crush the outer housing.
  • Make sure the inner cable is fully seated and engaged in the wheel drive gearbox before tightening — a partially engaged inner is a common cause of a dead or erratic speedo.
  • Apply a light cable lubricant to the inner where the manufacturer of your bike recommends it, and grease the drive-unit end fitting sparingly so grease can't migrate up the cable.
  • Inspect periodically for kinks, splits in the vinyl housing or fraying at the ends, especially after riding in mud, dust or water; replace the cable rather than trying to repair a damaged section.
  • After washing or wet, muddy rides, let the cable drain and dry to reduce the chance of water sitting inside the housing and causing corrosion or binding.
  • Avoid sharp bends or tight radii during installation and storage, as a kinked outer will cause the inner to bind and can shear the drive.
  • Store spare cables coiled loosely in a cool, dry place, away from fuels and solvents that can attack the vinyl housing.
