The MTX Clutch Cable is a direct replacement cable made to suit the Kawasaki KL250 Stockman. It is engineered to meet or exceed the specifications of the original equipment cable, so it drops into the standard routing and lever without modification.
Construction is the same across the MTX cable range: an inner nylon sleeve for a smooth, low-friction pull, and a black vinyl outer housing that shields the cable from grit and moisture. It is intended for riders replacing a clutch cable that has become stretched, frayed, notchy or stiff in operation.

- Check the model year and existing cable routing before fitting, as clutch cable lengths and ends can vary between variants of the same model.
- Route the new cable in the original path with smooth, sweeping bends — tight kinks increase lever effort and shorten cable life.
- After fitting, set clutch lever free play to the figure in your Kawasaki owner's manual and confirm the clutch fully disengages and engages before riding.
- Check free play again after the first ride or two, as a new cable can settle and stretch slightly during initial use.
- Periodically lubricate the inner cable with a cable lubricant suited to nylon-lined cables, and grease the lever pivot and cable ends.
- Keep the outer housing and adjusters free of mud and grit, particularly after off-road or wet riding, and wipe clean with a damp cloth rather than harsh solvents.
- Inspect the cable regularly for frayed strands, splits or chafing in the vinyl housing, and replace it if operation becomes stiff, notchy or inconsistent.
- Make sure the cable does not bind or pull when the handlebars are turned lock to lock and the suspension moves through its travel.
- Store spare cables coiled loosely in a dry place, not folded or crushed under weight.
