The Akrapovic Racing Line (Carbon) is a complete exhaust system for the Yamaha MT-09 / FZ-09, built around a carbon-fibre muffler outer sleeve, stainless steel headers and link pipes, and a titanium end cap. The full system replaces the standard exhaust from the headers back and sheds 2.6 kg — around 36.5% of the stock system's weight — while lifting peak power and torque in back-to-back dyno testing against the stock exhaust.
The shorter muffler gives the bike a more compact, sporty profile and exits at the side for visual impact, with a racing sound tuned specifically to the CP3 triple. It remains compatible with Yamaha hard cases and the centre stand accessory, so a touring-equipped MT-09 doesn't have to give anything up.
This system is intended for track and closed-course competition use only. It does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use. The P-HF1595 fitting kit is mandatory and must be ordered separately, as it supplies the muffler clamp, bracket and mounting hardware.

- Order the mandatory P-HF1595 fitting kit before installation — it supplies the muffler clamp, bracket and mounting material that are not included with the system.
- Have the system fitted by a qualified workshop, and confirm all clamps, brackets and header fasteners are correctly seated before the first start.
- Wipe fingerprints and oil residue from the headers and end cap before the first heat cycle; contaminants can bake into the finish and leave permanent marks.
- Some discolouration (bluing) of the stainless headers after heat cycling is normal and is not a defect.
- Re-check clamps, springs and mounting bolts after the first few heat cycles, as joints can settle once the system has been up to temperature.
- Clean only when the exhaust is completely cool, using a soft cloth with mild soapy water; avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents or degreasers on the carbon-fibre sleeve.
- Do not aim a pressure washer directly at the muffler outlet or joints, and avoid letting water sit inside the system — run the engine briefly after washing to clear moisture.
- On Euro5+ bikes with two lambda sensors, expect the engine check light to appear once the ECU detects the deviation from stock catalytic converter parameters.
- Inspect the carbon sleeve periodically for cracks, delamination or heat damage, and check for exhaust leaks at the header and link pipe joints.
- Use only on tracks and closed-course competition circuits — this system is not emissions compliant for road use.
