- Clean the rim surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely before applying weights to ensure maximum adhesion.
- Apply weights to a flat, straight section of the inner rim, avoiding welds, valve stem areas, and curved rim edges.
- Press each segment firmly along its full length for several seconds to activate the adhesive bond.
- Do not apply weights in cold conditions (below approximately 10°C); warm the rim surface if necessary to improve adhesion.
- Inspect wheel weights visually each time tyres are changed or the wheel is removed, and replace any segments that show lifting edges or loss of adhesion.
- Do not reuse removed segments — adhesion is compromised once a segment has been peeled off.
- Store unused segments in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight to preserve adhesive integrity.
- Dispose of used steel weights in accordance with local metal recycling guidelines.
