- Check your scooter's oil level with the engine at operating temperature and the bike standing upright on its centre stand; add oil only up to the upper mark on the dipstick or sight glass — do not overfill.
- Change the oil at the interval specified in your scooter manufacturer's service manual; do not extend drain intervals beyond the recommended schedule.
- Warm the engine for a few minutes before draining used oil — warm oil flows more freely and carries more contaminants out with it.
- Confirm that SAE 10W-40 viscosity and this oil's specification meet your scooter manufacturer's requirements before use; consult the owner's manual if unsure.
- Replace the sump drain plug washer as directed by your service manual to prevent leaks after an oil change.
- Store unused oil in the original sealed container in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flame.
- Dispose of used engine oil at a licensed waste-oil collection point; never pour it down a drain, into soil, or into general rubbish.
