The Motul Road Chain Care Pack brings together the three things you need for routine drive chain maintenance in one kit: a 400 mL aerosol of Motul Chain Clean, a 400 mL aerosol of Motul Chain Lube Road, and a dual-ended cleaning brush.
It is aimed at road riders who want a straightforward clean-and-lube routine at home or in the shed. Degreasing and re-lubricating on a regular schedule helps clear away the grit and old lube that grind at chain and sprocket teeth, so the drivetrain runs quieter and lasts longer.
The Chain Clean formula suits road and off-road motorcycle chains as well as quads, while the Chain Lube Road is a colourless spray grease developed for road bikes and karts. Both are safe for standard, O-ring, X-ring and Z-ring chains.

- Work on a stationary bike with the engine off and the chain cool enough to touch; use a paddock stand or centre stand so the rear wheel can be rotated by hand.
- Spray Chain Clean over the chain while slowly rotating the wheel, allow it to soak into the built-up grime, then agitate with the brush.
- Use the compact bristle end of the brush to scrub all four sides of the chain, and the long bristle end to reach lube build-up around the sprocket and swingarm area.
- Wipe the chain down with a clean rag and let it dry before applying lube, so the grease adheres to a clean surface rather than trapping residue.
- Apply Chain Lube Road evenly to the inner run of the chain while rotating the wheel, then give it time to set before riding so it does not fling off.
- Keep both aerosols off brake discs, brake pads and tyres; mask or shield these if you are spraying near them, and clean up any overspray immediately.
- Re-clean and re-lube regularly, and more often after wet rides or washing, since water displaces lube and accelerates chain and sprocket wear.
- Check chain slack and alignment against your motorcycle's owner's manual while you have the bike on the stand.
- Store the aerosols upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and open flame, and observe the safety directions on each can.
- Rinse the brush after use and let it dry so old grease and grit are not carried back onto a freshly cleaned chain.
