Motul C3 Chain Lube Off-Road is a high-adhesion aerosol chain lubricant formulated specifically for off-road and enduro riding conditions. Its tacky formula is engineered to cling to the chain under the centrifugal forces of aggressive off-road use, providing lubrication even in wet, muddy, and dusty environments.
Suitable for all sealed chain types — including O-ring, X-ring, and Z-ring chains — C3 is a practical choice for motocross, enduro, trail, and adventure riders who subject their drivetrain to demanding conditions. The 400ml aerosol format allows for quick, precise application without mess.

- Clean the chain thoroughly before applying — remove old lubricant, mud, and grit using a suitable chain cleaner and a brush, then allow to dry completely.
- Shake the aerosol can well before use.
- Apply to a warm chain (after a short ride) for better penetration into chain links and rollers.
- Direct the spray nozzle to the inner side of the chain — between the chain and the rear sprocket — while slowly rotating the rear wheel by hand; this ensures lubricant reaches the critical contact points.
- Allow the lubricant to penetrate for a few minutes before riding so it settles into the chain and excess can be wiped away.
- Wipe off any surplus lubricant from the outside of the chain with a clean cloth to reduce dirt accumulation.
- Keep lubricant away from brake discs, tyres, and rim surfaces; if contact occurs, clean immediately.
- In very wet or extremely muddy conditions, reapply more frequently — a clean, well-lubricated chain wears significantly less than one starved of lubricant.
- Store the aerosol can upright in a cool, dry place away from heat sources, open flames, and direct sunlight.
- Dispose of empty cans according to your local council's aerosol recycling guidelines.
