  • Connect the pump to a 12V source such as the motorcycle battery or an accessory outlet before use; it has no internal battery of its own.
  • Check that the air hose is screwed squarely onto the valve stem before switching on, so air is not lost past the fitting.
  • Inflate in short bursts and check pressure with a gauge as you go, rather than running the pump continuously to a target figure.
  • Let the pump cool between inflations - small compressors heat up quickly with sustained use.
  • Disconnect the power leads before packing the pump away, and coil the hose and leads loosely to avoid kinking.
  • Wipe the housing with a dry or lightly damp cloth; keep solvents and degreasers away from the plastics and hose.
  • Store in a dry place inside the bike's luggage, away from fuel, oils and prolonged direct heat.
  • Before a long trip, run the pump briefly to confirm it still builds pressure and that the leads and hose are undamaged.
  • If the bike has been sitting, check the battery is healthy - a flat battery cannot drive the pump.
