- Confirm fitment for your make and model before installation — clamp sizes and mounting arrangements differ between bikes.
- Fit the clamp squarely to the bar or mount and tighten evenly; nip up firmly by hand tools only, as overtightening can distort the clamp or damage the mount.
- Set mirror angle with the bike upright and you in your normal riding position, then check the view over both shoulders before riding.
- Re-check clamp and pivot tightness after the first few rides, and periodically thereafter, as vibration can loosen fasteners over time.
- If the mirror creeps or vibrates while riding, stop and re-tighten rather than continuing — a loose mirror can rotate out of view.
- Clean the glass with a soft, damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents, which can scratch the glass or dull the housing.
- Dry the mirror after washing or wet rides to limit water marks and corrosion at the stem and clamp hardware.
- Apply a light smear of anti-seize or grease to threads on assembly to make future removal easier, and avoid pressure-washing directly at the clamp and pivot joints.
- Replace the mirror if the glass is cracked or the stem is bent — damaged mirrors distort the view and may not meet roadworthy requirements.
