A replacement 19-inch inner tube from Metzeler, sized to suit 3.00-3.60 and 90/90-100/90 tyres and fitted with a straight TR4 valve stem. Nineteen-inch wheels of this width are commonly found on the front of adventure tourers, classic and retro machines, so it is a useful spare to keep on the shelf or in a tour pack.
Metzeler builds its tubes from synthetic rubber for elasticity and resistance to stress and heat build-up, with a heavy-duty wall for durable service and added puncture resistance. Always confirm the tube size, valve type and valve hole position against your own rim and tyre before fitting.

- Check that the tube size, valve type (TR4) and rim valve-hole position match your wheel and tyre before fitting.
- Fit a suitable rim tape or rim band over the spoke nipples so spoke ends cannot chafe or puncture the tube.
- Inflate the tube just enough to hold its shape before fitting, so it cannot fold or pinch between the tyre bead and rim.
- Use tyre-fitting lubricant or soapy water rather than oil or petroleum-based products, which degrade rubber.
- Keep tyre levers clear of the tube and work carefully around the valve to avoid pinch cuts.
- Ensure the valve stem sits square to the rim, then tighten the valve nut and any lock nut by hand only.
- Inflate, deflate and re-inflate after fitting to help the tube settle without twists, then check the bead is seated evenly all round.
- Check cold tyre pressures regularly and use the pressures specified by the motorcycle and tyre manufacturers.
- Store spare tubes in their packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, solvents and electric motors.
- Replace rather than repair a tube with damage near the valve base, and do not stretch or force a tube into a size it is not rated for.
