The Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact is a sport touring radial built for riders who cover real distance on real roads. This is the 160/60ZR18 (70W) tubeless rear fitment, suited to sport tourers, naked bikes and road-going machines running an 18-inch rear wheel.
Its reputation rests on wet-weather composure. The Greek π-inspired groove layout clears water across a wide range of lean angles, while Metzeler's patented Interact™ steel belt technology varies the winding tension across the carcass — firmer through the centre for stability and mileage, more flexible on the shoulders for grip and feedback when cornering.
Paired with a high-silica compound and CMT (Contour Modeling Technology) profiles, the Z8 Interact aims for neutral, predictable steering that holds its manners from new through to the end of its life.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — radial tyres should not be fitted by hand.
- Check the rotation arrow on the sidewall and fit the tyre the correct way around; the rear pattern is direction-specific.
- As a tubeless (TL) tyre, fit it to a rim rated for tubeless use and in sound condition, with a serviceable valve — replace the valve and any rim seal components at each tyre change.
- Scrub the tyre in gently for the first stretch of riding: the surface is slippery when new, so build lean angle and throttle progressively before riding hard.
- Check cold inflation pressures at least weekly and before every long ride, using the pressures specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual or on the swingarm/chain guard placard.
- Inspect regularly for cuts, bulges, embedded stones, nails or sidewall damage, and have any suspected damage assessed before riding.
- Replace the tyre when the tread reaches the moulded wear indicators or your state's legal minimum tread depth, whichever comes first.
- Do not exceed the load index or speed rating marked on the sidewall, and do not fit it to a bike outside the sizes listed by the motorcycle manufacturer.
- Pair with a compatible Metzeler front tyre and avoid mixing brands or tread patterns front to rear.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, fuels, solvents and electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
- Clean with mild soapy water only — keep tyre shine, dressings, solvents and petroleum products off the tread.
