- Allow a scrub-in period of approximately 100 km on a new tyre before using full lean angles — this removes mould-release agents and allows the compound to seat correctly.
- Always check tyre pressure cold (before riding); refer to the motorcycle manufacturer's recommended pressures for your specific load conditions and never check a hot tyre.
- Do not exceed the tyre's rated load index of 69 (325 kg) or speed rating of V (240 km/h).
- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using appropriate bead-seating equipment; tubeless tyres require correct mounting lubricant and a suitable rim seal.
- Inspect the tyre regularly for cuts, embedded objects, sidewall bulges, cracking, or uneven wear; remove the tyre from service immediately if any such damage is found.
- Replace the tyre when tread depth reaches the moulded tread wear indicators to maintain adequate wet-weather drainage and grip.
- Keep the tyre clear of petroleum products, brake fluid, oil, and hydrocarbon-based solvents, as these degrade the rubber compound.
- After a significant impact — pothole, kerb strike, or road debris — inspect both the tyre and rim carefully for hidden damage before continuing to ride.
- For extended storage, keep tyres away from direct sunlight, UV sources, ozone-generating equipment (electric motors, fluorescent lighting), and extreme heat; where possible, raise the motorcycle to take load off the tyre.
