The Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra is a touring and cruiser tyre built around one priority: covering long distances without chewing through rubber. This is the 80/90-21 48H tubeless front fitment, suited to 21-inch front wheels on cruisers, baggers, tourers and their custom variants.

Metzeler combined profile, casing structure, tread pattern and compound to work as one package. The flat, wide profile spreads the stress generated in the contact patch out toward the sidewall, easing fatigue and slowing the wear process, while abrasion-resistant polymers in the compound do the rest of the mileage work.

Wet-weather ability wasn't left behind. The tread pattern is an evolution of the long-serving ME880, reworked to move water away from the contact patch and wear more evenly across the full tread width, with a high silica content in the compound adding chemical grip on damp roads. Sold individually as a front tyre.

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — do not attempt home fitting on a bike wheel.
Being tubeless, fit only to a rim rated and sealed for tubeless use; if your wheel requires a tube (for example, a spoked rim without a sealed bead), it must be fitted with the correct tube by a professional.
Check that the rotation direction arrow on the sidewall matches the wheel's direction of travel before the wheel goes back on.
Ride gently for the initial break-in period so the mould release agents scrub off — avoid hard braking, sharp lean angles and aggressive throttle until the full tread width has been used.
Check and set inflation pressure when the tyre is cold, using the pressure specified by your motorcycle's manufacturer for your load and riding conditions.
Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded objects, bulges, uneven or flat-spot wear, and sidewall cracking; replace before the tread reaches the legal minimum depth.
Match the front and rear as an approved combination and stay within the tyre's load index and speed rating.
Clean with mild soap and water only; keep petrol, oils, solvents, brake fluid and silicone tyre dressings off the tread and sidewalls, as these can degrade the rubber and reduce grip.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and sharp objects.
After any impact with a kerb or pothole, or after a puncture repair, have the tyre inspected internally by a technician before returning to normal use.
