The Metzeler ME 22 is a classic-profile tyre built for vintage, heritage, and custom motorcycles. Available in a 3.50-18 size with a reinforced carcass, it suits a broad range of period machinery where a traditional tread pattern and proven construction are priorities alongside everyday road reliability.

Designed for tube-type fitment only, the ME 22 in this size is approved for use on both the front and rear axle — a practical advantage for classic bikes that share a single tyre size across both wheels. The 62P load and speed rating is well suited to the demands of classic road riding.

  • Approved for both front and rear fitment on the same motorcycle
  • 3.50-18 sizing suits a wide range of classic, vintage, and custom motorcycles
  • Reinforced carcass construction for increased durability and load capacity
  • Tube-type (TT) design — correct fitment for period-style and heritage builds
  • Load index 62 (265 kg maximum load per tyre)
  • Speed rating P (150 km/h maximum speed)
  • Classic tread pattern optimised for road use
  • Single tyre

  • This is a tube-type (TT) tyre — a compatible inner tube is required; do not attempt to run tubeless.
  • Fitment must be performed by a qualified tyre technician or motorcycle workshop using proper mounting equipment; improper mounting can damage the tyre, tube, or rim.
  • Check tyre pressure before every ride with a calibrated gauge; use the inflation pressure specified in your motorcycle's owner manual for this tyre size and load.
  • Allow approximately 100 km of moderate riding — including gradual increases in lean angle — before applying full cornering loads; new tyres carry a release agent that must be worn away.
  • Inspect the tread surface and sidewalls regularly for cuts, cracking, bulges, punctures, or embedded objects; any structural damage warrants immediate replacement.
  • Replace the tyre when tread depth reaches the moulded wear indicators or the legal minimum of 1.5 mm (Australian road law), whichever comes first.
  • Never exceed the load index of 62 (265 kg) or speed rating of P (150 km/h) marked on the tyre sidewall.
  • When storing unmounted tyres, stand them upright or lay them horizontally in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, UV sources, and ozone-generating equipment such as electric motors or generators.
