The Metzeler MCE 6 Days Extreme is a competition-bred enduro rear tyre built for riders who spend their weekends in mud, roots, rocks and slippery technical going. This is the Super Soft specification, identified by three lime lines on the tread, and it sits at the grippiest end of the 6 Days Extreme range.
The Super Soft tread polymer carries a higher proportion of plasticisers than the Soft version, producing an appreciably softer rubber that keeps biting on wet rock, greasy hardpack and the toughest technical sections. It is a specialised race tyre: expect outstanding adherence with a service life suited to one-day events rather than season-long use.
Sized 140/80-18 in 70M tube-type fitment with an M+S marking, it suits enduro machines such as the KTM EXC and similar 18-inch rear enduro bikes, and it is road legal for transport stages between sections.

- Tube type only — fit with a suitable new inner tube; replace the tube whenever you replace the tyre.
- Have the tyre fitted by a qualified tyre fitter using proper lubricant, and observe the direction of rotation marked on the sidewall.
- Off-road use with low pressures generally calls for a rim lock to stop the tyre creeping on the rim and tearing the valve stem.
- Check and set inflation pressure cold before every ride, following your motorcycle manufacturer's recommendation.
- The Super Soft compound works best from a few degrees above 0°C upwards; in colder conditions grip and feel will fall away, so consider a harder specification.
- Avoid prolonged high-speed road use at any temperature — transport stages only, not sustained highway running.
- Treat it as a race-day tyre: the Super Soft compound is designed to last the distance of a one-day event, so plan replacements around your race calendar.
- After each ride, inspect the knobs for tearing or chunking and the sidewalls for cuts, splits and impact damage; replace the tyre if damage is found.
- Clean with water and a mild detergent; keep petrol, oils, brake fluid and solvents off the rubber.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sources of ozone such as electric motors, and do not exceed the 70M load and speed rating.
