The Metzeler Cruisetec in MU85B16 77H is a tubeless rear tyre built for heavyweight V-twin cruisers, baggers and customs. It pairs sport-touring derived profiles with a robust carcass, so a big, torquey machine still turns in willingly and holds a line without feeling heavy through transitions.
The rear uses a dual-compound layout with a high silica content for quick warm-up and chemical grip on cold or wet asphalt, while the deep, brush-like tread pattern works for mechanical grip and water evacuation. Constant-curvature contours and compound bridges across the tread help the tyre wear evenly and keep a consistent contact patch from upright to full lean.
It suits riders who cover real distance solo or two-up and want predictable handling for the life of the tyre, including on modern bikes running ABS and traction control.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician; fit it in the rear position only and follow the mounting and direction-of-rotation markings on the sidewall.
- Fit only to a rim size and type approved for tubeless use, and replace the valve or valve seal at the same time as the tyre.
- Scrub the tyre in gradually over the first few rides — avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and deep lean angles until the full tread width has been used.
- Check and set cold inflation pressures at least fortnightly using the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer for solo, two-up or loaded riding; never set pressures when the tyre is hot.
- Re-check pressures and torque settings after the first ride following fitment, and again before any long trip.
- Inspect regularly for cuts, bulges, embedded stones, nails and uneven or stepped wear, and have any damage assessed professionally before riding.
- Replace the tyre when the tread reaches the wear indicators or the legal minimum tread depth, whichever comes first, and replace rather than repair if a puncture is in or near the sidewall or shoulder.
- Expect reduced grip in cold weather and in the wet until the tyre has warmed up; allow extra time and distance in those conditions.
- Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush only — keep petrol, solvents, degreasers, brake cleaner, chain lube and silicone tyre-shine products off the tread and sidewalls.
- Store spare or seasonal tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and any fuels or chemicals.
- Do not exceed the load and speed limits marked on the sidewall, and avoid running the tyre under-inflated when carrying a passenger or luggage.
