  • Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; avoid solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the shell finish and graphics.
  • Wipe the visor or eye-port lens with a clean, damp microfibre cloth only — dry or abrasive wiping will scratch the lens surface.
  • If the interior liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them with mild detergent and allow to dry fully before reinserting; do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
  • Inspect the chin strap and buckle regularly for fraying, cracking, or loss of adjustment function; retire the helmet if the retention system is compromised.
  • After any significant impact — even with no visible external damage — retire and replace the helmet immediately; EPS foam crushes on impact and cannot recover structural performance.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, and heat sources, all of which degrade foam and shell materials over time.
  • As a general industry guideline, consider replacing the helmet within five years of its manufacture date, or sooner if fit, liner condition, or shell integrity has deteriorated.
  • Do not apply paints, unapproved adhesive decals, or chemical treatments to the outer shell, as these can weaken the structure without visible sign.
