  • Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soapy water; rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage.
  • If the helmet has a removable liner or cheek pads, remove them and hand-wash gently according to the care label; do not machine wash or tumble dry.
  • Clean the visor or lens with a lens-safe cleaner and a clean microfibre cloth; never use abrasive cloths, paper towels or dry wiping on a dirty visor.
  • Do not use petrol, acetone, paint thinners or any solvent-based product on the shell, visor or liner — these will damage the materials.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuels and chemicals; use a helmet bag if available to prevent scratching.
  • Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even when there is no visible external damage — the internal EPS liner can be permanently compromised by a single strike.
  • Inspect the chin strap and buckle before each ride to confirm it fastens and releases correctly.
  • Check the manufacture date moulded inside the helmet; most manufacturers recommend replacement within five years of manufacture regardless of condition.
