  • Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the finish or shell material.
  • Remove and hand-wash the internal liner and cheek pads (if removable) according to any care labels present; allow to air dry completely before refitting.
  • Clean the visor or face shield with warm water and a soft cloth; never wipe a dry visor as this can cause fine scratches that impair vision.
  • Inspect the retention system (chin strap and buckle) regularly for wear, fraying or looseness, and replace if compromised.
  • After any significant impact, retire the helmet — internal damage may not be visible externally.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuels, and chemicals; use a helmet bag if available to protect the shell and liner.
  • Do not paint, apply adhesive stickers, or use chemical cleaners on the shell, as these can weaken the structural integrity.
